The freshwater basin is a lake of 37 km2 from which the inhabitants of Uusikaupunki and other nearby towns get their drinking water. The basin was dammed up in the mid 1960s.

The nearest tax offices are located in Rauma, address Valtakatu 6A  Turku, address Lemminkäisenkatu 14-18(Data-City).
