Playgrounds Sports and hobbies There are several children's playgrounds on the Uusikaupunki town center area. The largest is Leijonapuisto ("lion park") on the south shore of Kaupunginlahti Bay, near the Bonk center.

Freshwater basin Sea and Nature The freshwater basin is a lake of 37 km2 from which the inhabitants of Uusikaupunki and other nearby towns get their drinking water. The basin was dammed up in the mid 1960s.
