Uusikaupunki’s event calendar offers an easy way to browse current local events — from cultural happenings and sports to public lectures, family activities, concerts, and much more. The calendar helps residents stay up to date with what’s happening in their city and provides visitors with a convenient tool for planning their stay. Many events are automatically imported from external services such as Lippu.fi, Tiketti, Ticketmaster, and Netticket, helping to keep the calendar up to date and comprehensive.
Did you know that you can add your own event to the calendar free of charge?
The event calendar is open to all organisers. Businesses, associations, communities, and private organisers can submit their events and use the calendar as a free marketing channel. All listed events must be open to the general public. Events intended only for closed groups — such as association members — cannot be published in the calendar. It is recommended to add your event as soon as the date is confirmed. The earlier an event is added, the easier it is to avoid scheduling overlaps with similar or large events.
Registering for the calendar is quick and simple with an email address. After creating an account, users can add and manage their events and track visibility statistics. Organisers can also grant event management permissions to other users if needed, and event feeds can be easily embedded on external websites.
Event Calendar as a Tool for Marketing and Communication
The Tourism Office and the city’s communications team actively use the calendar: weekly event highlights are compiled based on its content, and selected events are featured on the visituusikaupunki.fi website as well as on the city’s social media channels. The more comprehensive the calendar, the greater the visibility events receive across the city’s communication platforms.
The Event Calendar Already Has an Active User Base
The current calendar was launched in early June 2025. Between 1 June and 31 December 2025, it was viewed approximately 90,000 times. During that period, it had 14,241 users and 47,029 visits. By the end of 2025, nearly one thousand past, current, and upcoming events had already been added.
