juhannus santtioranta
On Midsummer Eve, 19 June, from 4–7 PM, visitors can dance the afternoon away at the Midsummer Dance event at Santtioranta Camping (Kalalokkikuja 14), with live music by Dinturisti. On Midsummer Day, 20 June, from 4–7 PM, the dance floor will be filled with music performed by Ville-Markus Vesterinen.

 

haukharja

A family-friendly Midsummer celebration will take place at Haukharja (Lavikontie 456) on Midsummer Eve, 19 June, starting at 6 PM. The programme includes community singing, a devotional service, sauna, and sausage grilling. Visitors can also take part in fun Olympic-style games for the whole family. The event features Pastor Liisa and Cantor Ari.

A bus service will be available to Haukharja, departing from Kalanti Church at 5:15 PM and from Uusikaupunki New Church at 5:30 PM. The return journey from Haukharja will depart at approximately 9:30 PM.


 Pakkahuone

The Pakkahuone Café is open daily from 8 AM to 10 PM. Throughout June, visitors can enjoy an exhibition of maritime-themed paintings by Markus Kotiranta.

On Midsummer Eve, 19 June, from 4–6 PM, a free bingo event will be held at Pakkahuone Market Square. There will be great prizes to win, and children can enjoy a bouncy castle on site.
 

Automuseo

Located on Autotehtaankatu, the Automobile Museum is open daily, including throughout the Midsummer weekend, from 10 AM to 6 PM. The museum features an extensive collection of classic cars and fascinating exhibits covering various aspects of 
motoring and motorsports. A place of honour is given to Korvensuu, the first Finnish automobile, built in 1913. Visitors can also explore a comprehensive Saab collection and a unique vintage car repair workshop museum. 

 

Restaurant Events 

Looking for great food, live music, and a festive atmosphere? Uusikaupunki’s restaurants offer a variety of Midsummer events, 
entertainment, and summer flavours throughout the holiday weekend. Enjoy local cuisine, refreshing drinks, and memorable evenings by the sea and around town

sini, minski ja päivi

Most local restaurants will be open as usual throughout the Midsummer weekend, serving delicious food and refreshing drinks.

At Pakkahuone Terrace After Work event on Midsummer Eve, 19 June, from 6–9 PM will feature live music and entertainment by Trio Sini, Minski & Päivi.

At Restaurant Wiku (Aittaranta 4–6), Ville-Markus Vesterinen will take the stage on Midsummer Day, 20 June, from 8 PM 
onwards, inviting guests to enjoy an evening of music and dancing.

At Restaurant Luode (Aittaranta 8), the Eero & Jukitsu Duo will perform live on Midsummer Day, 20 June.

Riemumäki
The Riemumäki Pop-up Café (Pyhämaanraitti 88, Pyhämaa) will be open on Midsummer Eve from 12 PM to 4 PM, and on Midsummer Day and Sunday from 2 PM to 8 PM.

In Pyhämaa, Kotileipomo Taina Vuorio’s Café (Kettelintie 137) will also be serving visitors during the Midsummer holiday. Café Kuppi ja Tassi is open on Midsummer Eve and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM, and on Midsummer Day from 11 AM to 6 PM.

Pyhämaan Pirtti (Pyhämaanraitti 35) welcomes guests on Midsummer Eve from 9 AM to 10 PM and on Midsummer Day from 9 AM to midnight. Enjoy terrace karaoke starting at 5 PM during the holiday weekend. 

On Midsummer Day, 20 June, from 7 PM to 11 PM, the Vintri Beach (Lyökintie 726) will host traditional Midsummer dances. This is a great opportunity to try out Pyhämaa’s new mobile dance pavilion while enjoying stunning sea views and live music. A buffet will be available on site, so be sure to bring some cash. The evening’s performer is Sanna Anniina Lång and her orchestra. Admission is free, and the programme fee is voluntary.

 

Pyhämaan kirkot
All churches in Uusikaupunki are part of Finland’s Road Church (Tiekirkko) network and welcome visitors throughout the summer. In Pyhämaa, the churches will also be open during the Midsummer holiday with free admission.

Pyhämaa Sacrificial Church (Uhrikirkko) and Pyhämaa New Church (Kirkontaustantie 15) are open on Midsummer Eve and Midsummer Day from 11 AM to 5 PM, and on Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM. ⛪

A cherished Midsummer tradition takes place on Midsummer Eve, 19 June, at 6 PM, when the Evening Call (Iltasoitto) is performed from the tower of Uusikaupunki Old Church. This year’s performance will be played by the trumpet players of the Andante Orchestra, filling the summer evening with beautiful music.
 

Isokari

Celebrate Midsummer on Isokari Island

Isokari, a large island in the Bothnian Sea, is home to a historic lighthouse that has guided sailors since 1833. During the summer season, this unique lighthouse island offers unforgettable experiences for visitors. The lighthouse, fully renovated in 2020, can be explored on guided tours, and those who climb its nearly 200 steps are rewarded with breathtaking views of the archipelago. 

Day cruises to Isokari are available on Midsummer Eve, 19 June, and Sunday, 21 June. Please note that there is no cruise on Midsummer Day.

The journey begins aboard M/S Kerttu, departing at 10:30 AM from behind the Pakkahuone Guest Marina (Pakkahuoneenkuja 2). The return trip arrives back at the same location at 5:30 PM.

Ticket prices are €93 for adults and €40 for children aged 4–12. The price includes:

  • Return boat transportation
  • A guided island tour
  • Admission to the lighthouse
  • Lunch at Restaurant Mainio

Katanpää

The traditional Midsummer celebrations on Katanpää Fortress Island offers live music, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and 
relaxed socialising in a charming archipelago setting. Visitors can reach the island by their own boat, as no organised 
transportation is available.

Höyry

Enjoy a truly Finnish sauna experience at Saunalaituri Höyry throughout the Midsummer holiday. Located on the historic Janhuanniemi peninsula, right by the sea, Höyry offers relaxing steam baths and beautiful coastal views. Sauna sessions must be booked and paid for in advance.

haimio

At the Haimio Public Sauna (Haimiontie 351), visitors can enjoy a refreshing summer swim and sauna every day throughout the season. The sauna is open to everyone and is located next to a public beach. Following local tradition, the first visitor heats the sauna. The facility is maintained by Jokisivun Nuorisoseura ry and was completely renovated and renewed in spring 2025.

Visitors are welcome to support the volunteer-led renovation and ongoing maintenance with an optional sauna fee. Instructions for making a contribution can be found at the sauna.
 

Puistogolf

The new Saaristoseikkailu Park Golf offers a scenic 18-hole park golf course that is perfect for visitors of all ages and a fun activity for the whole family. 

A round of park golf costs:

  • €13 for adults
  • €7 for children aged 6–13
  • €11 for students and seniors

The area is also home to Rantavaja Café & Restaurant, where you can enjoy tasty treats, meals, and refreshing drinks before or after your game. 

Both the golf course and the restaurant are open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, making Saaristoseikkailu a great destination throughout the Midsummer weekend and the summer season.

The Uusikaupunki Golf Course, located on Kasarminlahdentie, invites players to enjoy the game in a beautiful seaside setting. Now is the perfect time to grab your clubs and head outdoors to make the most of nature and the summer season. 

The Golf Club, located at Golfintie 2, offers tee-time bookings and a welcoming place to meet fellow golf enthusiasts in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're an experienced golfer or trying the sport for the first time, the course provides excellent facilities and enjoyable challenges for players of all skill levels.


Skeittipuisto

The Skeittipuisto Pumptrack, located by the scenic City Bay waterfront, offers fun and exercise for skateboarders, scooter riders, and cyclists of all ages. Set in beautiful surroundings, it is a great place for the whole family to spend time outdoors. 

Right next to the pumptrack, you'll find the popular Playground for children as well as an activity park for seniors, making the area a versatile destination for visitors of all generations.


For basketball enthusiasts, the Sorvakko Outdoor Basketball Court (Kullervontie 5) is open for everyone to use free of charge. Enjoy the thrill of the game in a stunning setting and challenge your friends to a match. Whether your strength is a precise jump shot, a stylish layup, or a spectacular dunk, there’s room to show your skills! 

Located near the padel courts, the asphalt-surfaced street basketball court (15 × 25 m) features three baskets, making it easy to gather a group and start playing. Bring your friends and enjoy some active summer fun!

Padel

Padel is a fast-paced and highly social racket sport that has gained enormous popularity in recent years. Originating in Mexico, it combines elements of tennis and squash to create a fun and accessible game suitable for players of all ages and skill levels. Often described as the world’s most social sport, padel continues to be one of the fastest-growing sports globally. 🎾✨

Padel is officially played as doubles, although it can also be enjoyed as a singles game.

Padel Uusikaupunki offers excellent facilities for enjoying this hugely popular sport right in the town centre. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, the courts provide a great setting for an active and enjoyable game.

The Pohitulli outdoor fitness area offers a versatile way to exercise in the fresh air. The equipment can be used to improve strength, mobility, and endurance at your own pace and fitness level. Suitable for all ages, the outdoor gym is free for everyone to use. 

Next to the fitness area, you'll find a scenic woodchip fitness trail that stretches from the sports facilities all the way to Santtio, providing excellent opportunities for walking, jogging, and outdoor training.

Nature lovers can enjoy several beautiful hiking destinations around Uusikaupunki. In Pyhämaa, the Pamprinniemi Nature Trail offers peaceful coastal scenery and a chance to experience the local archipelago nature. 

Closer to the town centre, Hiunjärvi, known as a popular bird lake, features a nature trail and a lean-to shelter, making it a great spot for a relaxing outdoor excursion and birdwatching. 

For an accessible outdoor adventure, visit the Kasarminlahti Accessible Nature Trail and Birdwatching Tower. The route can be accessed from the sports field parking area and includes beautiful views as well as a nearby lean-to shelter.

Another excellent excursion destination is the Oinassaari Lean-to Shelter in Korsaari, located approximately 18 kilometres from the centre of Uusikaupunki towards Lepäinen. Pack some snacks or something to grill, gather your friends or family, and head out to enjoy the Finnish summer outdoors.
